On Saturday afternoon, 14 September 2013, CAOSA was requested by Dr Corena de Beer, Secretary/Treasurer from the Black Powder Shooting Union of South Africa to fire the 6 pdr Muzzle Loading Cannon, placed at Durbanville Hills Restaurant, at the Closing Banquet for the Long Range World Championship that was hosted by South Africa and held on the Good Hope Shooting Range, Atlantis.
Besides South Africa, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands participated in this event.
Mr Merwe van Rensburg (Vice - President MLAIC) had the honour in firing the 6 pdr which was loaded by Erick Kellerman under the watchful eye of CAOSA Range Officer Jacobus van Niekerk.
After a successful firing by Mr Merwe van Rensburg, witnessed by the world’s Long Range Firing Champions, a VIP CAOSA Firing Certificate was handed over to him by Senior Gunner Erick Kellerman.
